Hey, right.

As you probably know, there are two different SCUMMVM's out for the GP2X.
DJWillis's ScummVM and ScummVM Kor.

I'm not into this technical know-how, but which is the more supported version and that plays more games properly (Beneath a Steel Sky, Monkey Island in particular).

Thanks peeps,
Over and out.

i think i had djwillis and it ran most games, like monkey island, just fine. but since fw2.0 it doesn't seem to run anything. anyone else having this problem?

same here. It doesn't even run, it just crashes when I'm launching the app
Anyone knows a way to contact DJWillis? I can't find his email nowhere and I would like to ask him if he's planning making new version of the scumm that will work on fw2.0

On my MK2 I am running the ScummVM emulator and it runs perfectly, well there is a wee teething problem.

Sometimes when I reload up my GP2X and try to run a game that is on the list of games available it causes the emulator to exit and take me back to the gp2x main menu. What I have to do is remove the game in question from the list and re-add it. I believe this causes the config file to be deleted but I dont know if this deletes all teh save games as well.

Can anyone confirm this?

It's never worked for me.

The program was only ever at alpha stage as I remember and DJWillis had other things going on in his life I think.

It's been inactive for quite sometime now.

too bad...NK's ScummVM port works for me but it won't run Monkey Island 3 *snif*
logic ;) NK build is using SCUMMVM 0.4.2 and don't support resize for big game
DJWillis build use ScummVM 0.9.0 CVS and have resize for big game (Broken Sword 1 & 2, Curse of Monkey Island)

@Ubersnug: Yes it does
@Yod4z: Could it be that DJWillis scumm Port was compiled using old (for fw1.2.1) libraries and fw2.0 uses new ones? What I want to ask is, could it be just a case of recompilation of the app with new libs?

there's still question, is it possible to make DJWillis scummvm work on 2.0
Well, someone could try the recompiling business you mentioned... I might do it myself, had my GP2X already arrived

Right, so I'll stick with the other guys ScummVM if I want it to work on 2.0 Firmware?
NONONONONO. It works fine on 2.0 firmware. You misred. I posted MK1 Not First Eddition, (abbreviated, maybe thats why you mis interperted).

The scumm I have has a korean readme and runs everything I throw at it .

Are you sure that a lot of people just are not having issues becasue they have the wrong files in their ??

ScummVM (well my builds) are staticly linked so there is no lib dependency issues with firmware versions.

There are however a few bugs inc. the one that stops it running for some people.

Try an older version for now (most alphas with support for the scalar have the same feature set) as I won't be releaseing a fixed and upto data version untill I sort out some cash for a new GP2X or borrow a jTAG to fix mine (main reason I have been out of the loop for a while).

As for contacting me, there are e-mail links all over my sites, I read PM's on here and try and reply frequently and most people seem to manage to contact me ;).
