i know all about how to convert and compress movies for the gp2x.

But i have trouble hearing so i am wondering how to get subtitles on the movie file.

How would i go about doing this?

PS: i tried t he program subrip but that didnt go to well :(

This belongs in the help section (I think?)
If it is a DVD, you rip the DVD first.
Then use subrip with the VOB files.
You have to type in the letters, as it's OCR based sub ripping, but once you get going it's not so bad.

Save the subs as an SRT file with the same name as the AVI.
Copy to GP2X.

No, it belongs in the Audio-Video forum ... someone should move it.

oh but sometimes when i use subrip they ask me to type the same letter twice like on diffrent spots of the letter. Do i just type the letter again or what?

What I normally do is type the letter for the first time, and then type some weird symbol, that isn't likely to be in the movie subtitles for the second time.

So let's say that sub rip is detecting a "K" but it puts the box on the first half,
Now you type in "K"
Now subRip puts the box on the second half of the "K"
Now you type in "¬"

When the subtitles are finished ripping, you can easily do a quick find and replace in notepad, and remove all the ¬ symbols.
