Hi!

I've had a great idea for a new game, but ideally I need something for playing short videos. Mplayer would be ideal (I have some experience coding with it on linux). I had a look for it but it doesn't seem to be with the kernel source? Dumb question I know but is there a link? (I checked the FAQ and the sticky posts).

Thanks

GPH have yet to release the mplayer source code. Last thing we heard was "We will release when we have inserted comments". Make of that what you will. I think it's confused all of us so far.

You could always use the ffmpeg code. It is supposed to be decently fast with divx playback. That, or you could bash script your video to the built in mplayer during the game.

It sounds like they're embarrassed of their code..

If the code LOOKS how the program RUNS they probably should be. At any rate, at least Dignsys seems to have written it and not GPH ...
No! Diginsys where the ones that botched the firmware and everything. The reason it has bugs in the Mplayer is because of them. THe new programming team must completely report it apparently as they never had any source. Diginsys did.
