Difficulty With Play-asia?

To ohio..play-asia felt like next door when I got my gp32, it was oddly quick from over seas. Also no magic taxes or duties.

That's because the residents of the US (myself included) don't have to pay import taxes or even regular taxes (only on things ordered online, and there are a couple exceptions). Basically, the US has some free trade stuff or whatever it's called that makes it so there are (for the most part) no taxes on things purchased from other countries. AWSOME, isn't it? (well, except when your country runs itself into debt due to a certain war . . .)

I think the USA has quite a high threshold for taxes, about $250, so if you are in the usa you probably won't be taxed.

In Europe however it is £17 - so you will ;)

In the Uk you will be charged 17.5% VAT and £3 upwards on DUTY (depending on the price of what you import) then the Post Office get you for arround £10.00 just to deliver it to you, not to mention customs handling fees.

That is if you are caught at all, sometimes they dont check the parcel.

Yes, I ordered from them, they are great.

I bought the MK2 and the TV-Cable,

$169 for the GP
$9 for the TV
$25 for the fast UPS

$205 U.S. and NO TAX!! I ordered Teusday and got it Thursday, I highly recommend them.

I also bought a 2GB A-Data 150x SD card from newegg.com for $51 ($48 plus shipping :)).

I ordered with them. I bought my GP32 FLU from them several years ago.

* They were the cheapest.
* Fast international postage.
* Offered good payment options - I think you can still use Paypal which is very handy for me.

That's because Chicago O'Hare International Airport is so close. I live near Detroit, and I can get a package from Japan in 2-3 days. Sometimes when I order CDs, if they are shipped early, I get them on day of release :)

I am currently living in South Korea. I ordered my GP2x from Play-Asia, and didn't have to pay any sort of importing fee. I heard people usually do have to on more expensive items. Maybe because I ordered something that was made in Korea?
