How Old Is My Gp2x?

On the sticker, it says "Model No: GP2X-F100"
THAT might be the firmware.

Firmware is software, not hardware, which means it can be upgraded, which means that if you DO upgrade it, and the number on the back is actually the firmware, the marking on the unit unit will be faulty. So, no. F100 is the real name of it. Just like Fuji's cameras are called F10, S9500 and so on. Since your unit was produced last year, I'm pretty sure it's a Mark 1.

My Gp2x has the text 2005.11.09 - GP2XV003 - 00000001 on it.

Does that just mean it's a MK1? It also says First Edition on it.

If that's true, then I think you might actually have the first mass-production GP2X ever produced! First Edition is not MK1, I think. I remember someone saying there was First Ed, Second Ed, MK1 and then MK2. Or something. My memory isn't always that reliable, though.

Wow, first of all, the GP2X-F100 is the model number (MKII's are GP2X-F100B) and second of all, you can "trade" it in. Jesus Christ. These forums are lowering my IQ.

Sorry, it's not like I have 2 of these readily available, and no one's posting their labels, so I don't have anything to compare with.
