Which NES emulators are best? There are a number of them, but not a lot of info on them. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks ;)

fNES: The first one by Rlyeh, so so in goodness, no sound (I think) - or at least, none to speak of, not sure about save (prolly not), and not all that fast on many games. Development on it has been postponed until the next ver of whatever its being ported from comes out.

Infones: Personal favourite, sometimes faster than fNES and with slightly more recognisable sound. It *does* save, which is nice, but nothing from the dev'r since the last release around X-mas.

Both emus have problems with some games' graphical bits (e.g. Earthbound, Kirby), but many are playable. Which is nice.

To be honest, I'm very surprised that nobody's made a 'decent' NES emu yet...both are pretty primitive, unfortunately. The demand should be there, which in theory means an equal ratio of programmers should be around who also want it emulated!

I guess the main fault is not the porters themselves but the fact that infones (the emu both are based on) is a relatively weak emulator to begin with. Currently, NES emulation on GP32 seems to be about equal to what it was on PC around before Nesticle came out and before iNES supported Mario 2 and 3. It DOES support Mario 2 and 3, but running Mario 3 on either emulator seems suicidal. Both should run Punch Out, but neither do (Punch Out is the only game I can ever think of that is similar to Mario 2...just cos of the layering it seems to use for eyes in both)

sometimes when you want to download roms from a website it says that you need to have the original cartriges to download the file or just delete the file within 24 hours. What happens if you don't delete the file? Thanks

The 24h thingy is just crap, ignore it. You are not allowed to download games you do not own the copyright to. However when it comes to abandonware (such as the NES), no one really cares.
