Lots of you may have already seen this before, but this guy completes Mario 3 in 11 minutes. He is pretty good at it.

link

Wonder if anybody could do it on their GP32..... We should have a competition to see who can do it fastest..........

Yeah, its pretty cool. I saw it on the neo-geo.com boards. Have you seen the megaman 2 video?

Yeah, I remember those days...it was about then I stopped playing SMB3 B)

[EDIT]
Wait a minute...he started with 4 lives...and ended up with 99? Is this the infamous B-Bomb trick I heard about?
[/EDIT]

Technically he didnt finish the whole game (in my opinion)... He missed out lots of levels hehe...

Funny you posted about this, I found out about it not too long ago (saw it the other day from downloading it on DC++), I then showed it to my friend yesturday when I went to his house.

I must admit that even though I am skilled with Mario 3, watching this video makes my jaw collapse in total awe, I mean, this makes me look like an amatuer Super Mario 3 gamer, and yet I can argue that there is no way in HELL that he could had done all of this in the one go. True, his score and lives remain, but I believe he musta done a lotta video trickery or stuff in order to make it appear he had kept his score and lives all the way, as if he did do this all at once.

And if you think about it, by watching closely, you can see that he risked hitting himself or risked losing his lives by merely showing off on those slow-scrolling ship and tank levels, and why should he even bother to? He didnt lose a life in the entire thing, and had 99 of them by the end of the video! The video clearly states it's a "time attack" clip, not a "show-off" one ;)

Anyhow, none the less it is a must-see for all SMB 3 fans, so those who havent saw it yet, go now! :)

Yeah i could do that if i didnt have a life :D but all i can say is WOW

On a similar note I had a video of SMB1 being completed in 9 minutes... basically using the warps and block tricks to go through walls and so on. Downloading aforementioned SMB3 now but I expect it will utilise a similar selection of cheaty maneuvers.

Wow :)

Okay, he only really cheats once on the second-last level, except for the double-warp trick. Very impressive playing.

Wait a minute...he started with 4 lives...and ended up with 99? Is this the infamous B-Bomb trick I heard about?

See for yourself...on the later train levels he jumps onto so many bombs it's not funny. After about 100 consecutive jumps he's rolling in 1-UPs.

Come on guys, this movie is a cut-together of luckily played single-levels. It's the attempt of a little console-loner to get a little fame. Why don't you wonder the boy got suddenly 32 lives after teleporting? He has forgotten to fake the number of lives! The chance to survive all this freaky fast maneuvers in one row, like displayed in this movie is about 1:1.000.000.000.000.000 and, such a fortuity, he was filming it accidentally as it happend ... so forget about it.

Not forget to mention that the last levels in world No. 8 are played really good ... ;)

Where does this happen? I double-checked and he has 4 lives until stage 8. He got 40 lives from the first scrolling stage.
You are right, I checked the video again: The number of lives and the scores are correct. I was just trying to disbelieve the impossible ... ;)

Well the idea that he could be using an emulator, replaying the level if he died/went too slow via save states, is entirely plausible.

Well that's funny because there's no link to his site on this thread, and the link in the video is in Japanese (the first one anyways). The save states / cheat point remains...
