ive tried making an avi out of a small mpg.. it kinda worked... when i viewed it in winamp, there was just green swuares everywhere but good audio... i followed the guide here: http://www.btinternet.com/%7Ewaystation/gpcin.html

so i copied it to my mmc, and when i scroll to it in gpcinema as soon as it gets highlited, i crash to mr. spiv bios!

can anyone provide some much needed help??

cheers !!!! ^_^;

u didnt encode the video properly. I had the same problem. Do the following

Make sure u use divx codec 4.12. (NO OTHER codec will work)

Follow the instructions in the FAQ section of this site OR download the VirtualDub settings from the downloads section of this site

almost surely a codec problem :) I've seen them all on gpcinema when I first started recoding anime for it :) but once you get the hang of it, it's really a simple task ;) (*goes to watch hack sign on gp32*)

Well I don't want to complicate things but Xvid works for me... (it might be same compression and everything as the Divx 4.12) I have also tried 4.12 and that works too... GPCinema is a little picky about the audio codec and Khz/bitrate though... had two different MP3 codecs (look to me as the same) one worked the other locked my gp32 dead when trying to play the avi...

that guide used xvid, and i followed it to the letter... i also got a sound compression failure with mpeg-3 as well, but it worked when i selected some other compression...
