Tha should keep you going for a while....

All pretty fun games :D

I am probably one of the older gamers on these forums so I mostly play Spectrum games, inparticular Bomb Jack, Batty, and Manic Miner.

However, one of the great things about the GP32 is that it has opened me up to spend time on systems I never had at the time so I also like to play:

Castaway: Risk
fSMS: Asterix and Sonic 1 & 2 (all great platform games that knock spots off most NES stuff)
LittleJohn: Elite (the only handlheld playable version outside of GBA Elite - A New Kind), Donkey Kong, Galaga and Super Mario Bros (all three pretty much arcade perfect as far as I can see)
Frodo: Commando (probably better than the Spectrum version which is pretty good)
fGB: Mario Picross (a great little puzzler)
fMSX: Arkanoid 2 (the best Arconoid game available outside of Batty on the Spectrum)

As far as GP32 homebrew games go, I occasionally have a go at GPPang and Giri Giri Walker.

All the official games that I have bought from JoyGP (admitedely only a few) are fairly poor in comparison to the above mentioned games and I can't see myself ever bothering to buy another again. I liked Pinball dreams for a while but I am too crap at it to ever get on the high score table and it is not as interesting as Pokemon Pinball on the GBC which at least gives you the odd bit of variety in the game.

At the moment:-

GpDoom- Goldeneye Wad
Final Match Tennis (as always)- PC engine
SML2 - GBC
Chrono Trigger (as always)- SNES
RC pro am - NES

Oh yeah, I forgot Doom, I play that as well. I am determined to go through all levels of Doom again before I move on to Doom II which I have yet to look at but I am sure will be impressive. Does Final Doom work with GP Doom? It seems a long way off but I will get there eventually so I just wondered if I can actually play it on the GP32.

Currently playing on my FLU:-

ZeldaDX
Zelda OoA and OoS
Bugs Bunnys Crazy castle 1 & 2 (3,4 suck)
Pokemon silver

I would say Harvest Moon, but after trying to play it I can't get into it.

The missus is currently playing on her non-FLU:-

Tetris
Dr Mario
Buggy Boy
Magic Pockets
Manic Miner
Jetpac
Galaxians (nes version is 100% perfect)
Puzzle Mix

Don't forget Wonderboy 3 on the SMS (its a RPG/platform game) - best damned game on the system and easily one of the best games of the era.

There is a Final Doom wad available I believe...
Haven't played it yet though.

heh, I just started playing CronoTrigger again, that game kicks ass! I also just picked up the GoldenEye WAD and was BLOWN AWAY! I was obsessed with the 64 version but this is genius, a HANDHELD, near perfect GoldenEye.

Also if you get Little John see if you can find Excitebike because its great.

LittleJohn: Elite
OMG! How the hell did I miss this? I had no idea Elite was released on the NES. How do the controls hold up? Is docking a nightmare with the over sensitive joystick on GP32?

The controls are excellent and it has a nifty menu system to get around all the keys on other systems. Docking is simple on the NES version as you just pay some money and it docks you automatically, later you can buy yourself a docking computer and save some money.

You need the US NTSC hacked version of Elite for it to work on LittleJohn. Ian Bell rates it as one of the best versions available.

Official: Dungeon and Guarder

GPengine: Aeroblasters, Alien Crush

Freeware: Tinytetris, GPasteroids, Battleships 32

Ports: Ultimate Doom (sooo superior to the GBA version), Hacx, Western WAD (short but pretty sweet)

Everything SCUMM related is good too. It beats Broken Sword on the GBA.

I'll start using GPcinema pretty soon but I need an extra SMC first.

Can't wait for: a good Genesis emulator to arise, A finished version of Xigon one, the first yeti3D game, halflife 2D (if it ever appears on GP32)
