now that mashmods are making controllers attached to gp32 and any handheld that means if someone makes a psx emulator we have enough buttons by using a psx controller

There will be no extra buttons, they current buttons are just "remapped"

but perhaps you can say, that when you press a special button on the attached controller that would be L and a on as butttons...
still i think xbox wont be possible... :)

No you dont.

You will still only have 8 directions, and 6 buttons. (A, B, Select, Start, L, R) these buttons will just be mapped to a controler rather than the actual handheld. The extra buttons wont do anything. You wont get "extra buttons" from this.
Although this is true, I've emailed mashmods and they say that can have the extra buttons, for example X on a snes controller, map to two buttons being pressed simultaneously on the GP32 (eg. L and A together). This way, it could be programmed into emulators to interpret L+A as X.

what's the point of having something attached to the gp that is as large as the handheld you've connected it to? it's like carrying a desktop pc claiming it's a notebook or sumthin... -_-

i love that you told us that mrtwit
that just made my day
anyone know if thats how open9x thingy works?
what combo is there for the other 2 buttons?

You can also have the L and R outputs remapped so that they output to X and Y on the snes controller. Since very few snes games make having L and R mandatory, perfect snes emulation! (Also yuujin, the snes controller is pretty thin). B)

For Fun.

I think an ext port controller would be better than that plugin one for the reason of actually interpeting the data from all the buttons :D. Because the emulator may mess up on interpetring the button with A+B+L to goto X *more buttons you push the less likely you'd push it regually with the normal A B and L buttons*

remapping wouldn't be infallible though what if L was mapped to A+L, A was mapped to A right...if you needed to push A and L at the same time you wouldn't be able to. no good for fighting games methinks, anyway the way opensnes has it now is really good, if it ain't broke...

1. Why the *imagine your own word here* would I want to connect a controller to a handheld? that would defeat the purpose of a handheld. And what about the GP32? Am I supposed to balance it on my knee or is someone developing a special tray or what? ;)

2. As for mapping, why change a running system? If a single button could be interpreted as a series of button clicks, you could just map SELECT A SELECT to it, as fast as the emulator can read the differences.

The real prblem is what to do with the GP if you;re holding the controller and not the system. You cant sit it on your lap and play games confortably. for all that just get a laptop and play all your games with perfect emulation.

What I'd rather see is a four button mod like Masmods did for the GBA I just wish all the buttons were the same size as the orginal ones.
