The changelog is:

Beta 004
--------
CHG: Increase button-threshold-timer so double-clicks and such happen less
FIX: Joystick shoudln't "stick" anymore -- works *really* well
CHG: Mouse buttons are redone, so they too don't "stick"; drags work better,
and double clicks work better
NEW: If a TOS image file is not selected or available, won't proceed
NEW: Cursor-mode
o d-pad pushes ST cursor keys
o B/A act as Insert/Home (should turn in many games)
NEW: Mouse-mode: Right-shoulder recalibrates mouse
NEW: Start now pauses (will be options menu sometime?)
CHG: Input-mode is rendered ever frame (regardless of frameskip), so its
easier to adjust finely
CHG: Slightly brightened palette.. a little more authentic now
NEW: Faster rendering; might experience tear-lines, but should render faster
and smoother.. every framepersecond is a less frameskip needed :) 10%!
NEW: Joystick-mode.. "A" is "up" (for jump in platformers) and
right-shoulder will now hit the spacebar (to skip intro screens maybe)
CHG: Added keys to virtual keyboard; Return, Backspace, Escape, functon keys
NEW: Disk saving is hacked in; not elegant, but works well :)
NEW: Disk picking menu now supports more than one screen of games.. scrolls
with the selection so you can go up and down
NEW: Disk picking menu pages up and down right left/right, in addition to
going one at a time with up/down

This is a seriously sexy release :)

Sound is coming soon.

Astonishing progress at an even more astonishing pace. Amazing work you're doing. Have you decided if you're gonna enter that Spanish contest with this beauty?

i can be well 'greased' and still take ages

but em, yeah, nice work Skeezix, so dying to get home and try this out :D

this is fantastic, BUT, i cant seem to get any games to run, i just get a flashin screen, like a zx48 loading, and nothing happens? any ideas? (using tos 102)

TOS 1.02 is in the ATARIST directory?

Picked a disk with the pciker.. (pick a disk, hit A, then push Start?)

Runs fine for me ;)

yep, renamed to tos.img, in ATARIST folder, along with a dummy and stuncar.stt, i can add a dummy to one drive and stunt car racer to another, it loads to the atari desktop fine, select floppy a and it opens a window with suntcar.prg, i try and select it, i get the bee for a second then it goes to a black screen and then just starts pulsing colours, i did get super cars 2 to run but it was very corrupt :(

Just wait until its loaded (ie flashing colours)..it will take several minutes for stunt car to get loaded

I am completely, utterly and TOTALLY gobsmacked. Have just played Ghosts and Goblins on it at full speed, frameskip 1. Have to say that the GP32 now has TWO killer apps - GPengine and now CaSTaway!

Speechless (doesn't happen very often!)

Its Christmas :D
Sitting here playing Another World.I've a massive smile plastered on my face.
I'm well happy as is...but being the greedy bastard I am...I want more.
Then presto: sticky joypad fixed and save feature added.
Now all I need is for a fiver to be spat out of my GP32 everytime I run Castaway/GP and I'm all set :)
STUNNING.
Well done to you skeezix.Your Mr Santa Claus in a big red suit.

skeezix, you are just amazing! You are a hero! You are superhuman!
If there would exist a pinup poster of you, I'd hang it up my bedroom wall!

Well, on the other hand, let's not take this over the top! :D

This is truly amazing - both the fact that it's been achieved, and the speed at which its been done.

One thing I've been noticing with it on my GP though is that the screen flickers *a lot* on most games. Is this likely to be a result of using a UK TOS image as opposed to, say, a US one, or some other reason?
Thanks (Using TOS 1.02)

Just simply Amazing !!

Not only have you made an amazing emulater but you have set this web site alight !!

Look at the response from your last release 79 replays !! and over 1400 views !!!

Enjoy the praise !

Cheers.

I noticed the screen flicker on a game or two... on one I tried setting the frameskip to 0 and the flicker went away... unfortunatley it was too slow then. Haven't tried with Beta 004 though.
