Sony Shows Off First Psp Game,

It is indeed. I probably won't, at least until there's a well established homebrew scene - GP32 does pretty much everything I need in a handheld. But that video is amazing.

Still, we've got Yeti3D; maybe - just maybe - we'll be able to get decent 3D games on that sort of style in the future (though I doubt it somehow).

the psp cant play homebrew games because you cant write the disks yourself. its just like the gameboy advance just commercial games.

Lol, but the GBA *isn't* just for commercial games. Theres a gba homebrew scene much much bigger than the gp32 one. They'll find a way, I've got a feeling that those memory stick memory ports will be the key :).

That's not entirely right - you just can't write disks *yet* - its perfectly conceivable that the deivce will get chipped and a disk made that acts as, say, a compactflash adapter.

You might never be able to write to the disks themselves, but I can easily imagine an adapter arriving; possibly even from Sony themselves for save-game purposes. Or something...

EDIT: Someone else got there first :p - isn't it great that that can actually happen on these boards lol?

i dowt it will be done because the memory sticks are for saving and you wont be able to load stuff off them. if someone did then sony would kill them with lawers(sp?)

why bother chiping it just so the you can have some "homebrews" on it which aint that good anyway. why not just play good quality games on it, and pay for them

The psp has wireless lan so that you can transfer musik and movies to it. Hopefully you can mount games in that way aswell.

yeah but where will you load them too. and how will you be able to break the anit piracy on the system. its abit point less becauses there are better and easyer systems to put homebrews on and emu.

To be honest, Why worry about emulation on PSP? We already have a great machine (Gp32) and several others for emulation and homebrew. (Zodiac, etc.) I wanna see the kinda official games this thing will have :D

maybe your right, but i'll get it for the commercial games anyway. Though it would be nice being able to make games for it :p

So what is the point of saving something if you can never load it back up?

Christ, what are you? a f**kin Sony plant or something?
People are gonna try to make homebrews for thing if they want to and to chip it or whatever. It's a bit early for us to know that much about the system so shut it with the trying to put everyone off the idea of playing around with the PSP.

yup... given time, anything is possible (Within reason :D)

(Within reason I mean Emulating a PS2 on the Amiga 500 that will never be possible.... But cracking protection, theres people out there that can do that for example that guy who cracked DVD Protection was Very Fast hehe...)

Back to the video clip, does the music sound familiar to anyone else? No, it's not the same song, but possibly an homage or trend here.
