The first comertial game that uses yeti3D engine v1 is Daedalus 3d for palm devices (http://www.daedalus3d.com), I think we could try to mail them to get a gp32 versión. Alienkinetics the creator of yeti3D has said in a forum that a conversion for pocket pc could be done in 3 days or so, then a gp32 should be done in the same time.

I think we can try it: MASSIVE PETITION FOR A CONVERSION NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for my english :(

looks cool, but how is it much different from doom?
Try the engine, and you'll see how much it differs from DOOM. It's a true 3D engine, you can look up and down, which you can't do in DOOM.

Er, I hate to be picky, but how come there are only 3 enemies? And one of those is described as a 6 legged arachnid - makes it sound like it was written by kids...

I couldn't find any mention of Yeti anywhere - everything on the site sort of suggests they wrote the engine themselves...

derek emailed me a few days ago asking about my catacomb 3d game was going and told me about the new game that was out.

Derek is the guy who created yeti 3d and the engine being used is this game is the commercial 1.

I've made the engine GP32 port.

On the Yeti engine GPL version for GP32 (code source are avaible), i've 35/40 fps in avg on the engine.

For porting the game with the gpl engine (with the code i've) you need less than 1 day and it will be faster that pocket pc version ;)

Try to imagine adding "Look Up" and "Look Down" to Doom. How would you do it?
The controls for Doom are overloaded anyway (not exactly anyone's fault, and Craigix did a wonderful job), you can't Strafe and change weapons at the same time (never NEEDS to be done anyway) but it is an example. Now you want to add two more controls?

When it comes to utilising Yeti, I feel we need to look outside the world of first person shooters.

What you could do, is make the 8-directional pad the thing you aim with (move the crosshair), A and B backwards and forwards, R shoot and L cycle weapons. You won't be able to strafe though... We have too little buttons

d-pad: aim
A button: forwards
B button: backwards
L button: strafe left
R button: strafe right
start button: shoot
select button: jump [maybe you will have to jump]
select + L: previous weapon
slect + R: next weapon
select + start: pause/options
select + start + L + R + half circle d-pad anti clockwise: make coffee

Woah!!!

ThunderZ why dont you speak with the daedalus team to help them to make the conversion?. I have wrote a post on daedalus3D forum about the gp32 conversion but they say they have no plans at the moment for the gp32 version.

Maybe if you tell them that a conversion can take just a day they could agree to do it with your help

Just an opinion ;)

yes, there really is no reference to yeti3d; not even a little can be found - those sukrs :p
but do we really want this crappy game ported
and a burning question for me - i guess its answered already somewhere else - is:
did anyone make or just try to make a game like this with yeti3d?

greets, the_Diabologic

The very first post and maybe more *only veiwed first, due to Yeti is old news to me*

Nin^^Nin's Catacombs remake is using the already made Yeti3d engine for the GP32, so no new engine is needed to be made.
Although Nin^^Nin could speed things up ;P;P
