    Gp2x = Extreme Durability

Here's one to add: Dropped my GP2X from around 4 foot onto a staircase floor, it bounced, down, every, step, to, the, bottom, and still worked fine after, as EvilDragon will attest to, since he had to reflash the unit after a failed upgrade. Only problems: slightly bent battery contact, joy-cap...

    Htp

Can someone, er, give me an faq on this, I saw the amusing, enticing video of HTP, but every search of this game ends in a page which is unfinished, containing something called 'frogfest'. :-/

    Gp2x Inside - Mk2

I came to a solution for that, a warm glue-gun, and a very very small amount of it, just in the hole, don't spill over the edge, then put the cap on, leave for 5 mins to cool, and voila, it's tight, and, after 30 mins, can still be removed adds an edge of firmness.

    Gui Flicker After Boot

Same deal I think. If you've ever changed resolution on a PC, or altered colours/frequency, you'll notice that those too will flicker when the settings are stored, though that doesn't flicker after the setting. In any case, it seems the most logical reason.

    Gui Flicker After Boot

Me too, though I think I found the cause. :) The LCD timings switch, when the GUI starts up, from whatever the hardware default is, to the setting saved by the OS after adjusting, the flicker is caused by this switch, as it only happened to me, after I started adjusting the frequency. Also...

    Mplayer Neo

Just posted about this as a passing comment elsewhere on the board, however thought I'd ask here if anyone is able to. Mplayer is fine and good as it is, but would be nicer if it supported more codecs. Is it possible that some coder out there can make a newer version that supports plugin...

Yep, more codecs for mplayer would be nice. Perhaps they could make it modular, to get around the licensing, ie, they release a working Mplayer, that does what it currently does, but provides support for additional codecs to be added later, for MP2, MP4, VP31 Cinepak, PSP and perhaps even M4V...

    Battery Mod Anyone?

Personally, I just use good old fashioned Uniross 2400mAh batteries, I get decent life, they are NiMH, AND, only cost me £5 for four in the local ASDA. I can watch FF7 Advent Children three times before they conk out, which is, roughly, 8 hours worth of video. I did see, however, come across...

    Squidgesnes V0.37 Released

I am curious, and hope that I don't get misinterpreted for mocking an emulator when I am simply wondering about a feature set. However, would it be possible to explain how DrMD, my fave emulator, can run so fast, and make it look so effortless, yet a SNES emulator isn't as good in the same...

    Players Choice

Yah, I hear ya. Finding stuff to put on the device is challenging, specially when you want enough media to keep you entertained without repeating, but keeping the sizes of said media to sizes that allow you to store loads.

What do you all enjoy most about your GP2X (Those that own them, to the rest, what do you look forward to most when you eventually own one?) My personal favourites are as follows: Movie Playback Music Playback (Though I need less AAC audio, and more OGG/MP3) Beat2x - I am soooooo hopelessly...

    Movie Formats

I've experimented with this quite a bit. The two codecs I've found to work are: DivX5 and 3ivX, which both work fairly well for me. I've founds out that .avi seems to be the preferred container, not just a rename, but the actual container format. Also, the resolution seems to be highly...

2nd Cpu, Utilised Much In Emulators?

Wait... from the link you recommended, are you saying that there is actually only one CPU, but dual core? I checked out the MMsp2 diagram, and it has two ARM cores in there. o.O

    Format Txt Files For Gp2x

Yes, but is it really that much of a problem to have the reader do this by default? Either by an option, or permanently?

Cool! Last time I installed this, it merely did flicker correction. Must keep abreast of current updates. Thanks!
