DPI configured correctly, an 8pt font should have the same physical size (a little over 1/10th of an inch) on any screen you use it with. 8pt fonts look just fine on my crappy 90dpi monitor so they'll look spectacular on Pandoa's 232dpi screen, and perceived as much larger because it'll be 1...
assuming it's shipped by then, i'll be looking for other Pandora users at 2009 comic-con :)
might write a small app that looks for other pandoras over bluetooth, but i dunno how well it'll work there. probably drop your battery very quick, amping up power to reduce interference in such a busy...
Except in this case we don't get to see the pig - there's just a few guys sitting on the other side of the wall yelling out constantly changing figures for it ;)
So yes, this is useless other than a game to pass the time.
I've used it on Debian just fine. There are a few good GPS apps for Linux. None of them will plot directions for you, but you can get pretty accurate street data with OpenStreetMap.
In that case, get a bluetooth receiver! I recommend the Qstarz BT-Q890. It uses a very new MTK chip that beats the SiRFIII. I've used both - no big difference outside, but I notice a pronounced improvement when acquiring and tracking in buildings. The higher sensitivity does leave it victim...
the rumblepad2 is the most comfortable controller, i think. think DS2/DS3 but the handles have a slight curve and are rubberized. fits *perfect*! if it weren't for the flaws it would be my first choice.
360 is the worst of all, imho - useless pov hat and the left analog is put in an...
I'll be using Rumblepad 2, Dualshock 2 (via Super Joybox 5 Pro), Dualshock 3, 360, and Wii controllers with it depending on the game and location. All work well in Linux. Looking for a decent N64->USB adapter atm.
The Pandora devs are clearly very optimistic about everything they do, Ubuntu being no exception.
While I'm sure Ubuntu will technically run on the Pandora, I think it would be a grave error to market it as Ubuntu capable. I worry that trying to use it on a 4.3" screen with a cumbersome...
Though I have written a few quick scripts in Python, I do not know it well enough to have an opinion of it. But I do know C++ very well, so I will give some thoughts on it. One thing I will say - use the right tool for the job. C++ might not be it, and Python might not be it. Look at your...
