Ah, okay. Do these have to be compiled for Pandora?

Maelstrom By Ambrosia - Anyone Got It Working On Pandora?

That's cool, but is it a Windows port? They already did one of those on the original page. I can't run Windows apps on the Pandora w/o an emulator or the op system, correct?

Maelstrom By Ambrosia - Anyone Got It Working On Pandora?

Bummer. Have you ever played it? Lots of fun. The Windows port is good, though I don't think it has the Bryan Adams sound samples from "Summer of `69" in that version. :D

Maelstrom By Ambrosia - Anyone Got It Working On Pandora?

http://www.devolution.com/~slouken/Maelstrom/index.html A great Asteroids clone from back in the day. If you like retro games and have never played it, highly recommended! It's been ported to Linux, but I can't get that version working on my Pandora. Any suggestions on how to open these RPM...

    Dosbox Frontend For Pandora...

FAWK! It's working. Excuse me; I'm apparently an idiot. :) My apologies - thank you for your help. BTW, I've set Tandy sound to "on", but I'm still not hearing 3 channels of sound in any games with Tandy 3-channel sound. Is that unusual?

    Dosbox Frontend For Pandora...

Read through documentation, created profiles for cycles = 1000 and less. Older DOS games didn't slow down one bit; still too fast to play. I then tweaked every setting I could find in dosboxfe; nothing seemed to change, even after saving and so forth. Next thing to try?

Excellent. It's amazing how accurate the games look to what I remember; great program. Thanks!

    Dosbox Frontend For Pandora...

This does help. Thanks! So, after fidgeting around for about an hour, I got games to play. Two questions: *What's the best way to slow / throttle the speed? Do I need to run something like SloMo and, if so, how do I run it concurrently while DosBox is going? *Tandy 3-channel sound doesn't...

    Dosbox Frontend For Pandora...

That makes sense. Okay, so, files in folders. Do I have to type out the whole path + .exe file, or can I select from a menu?

    Dosbox Frontend For Pandora...

Cool. Okay, so I want to run zipped DOS games (with their files in the ZIP files) by simply selecting the games from a menu. How do I do this? Looked for info, but can't find any on this in particular...

Super Newb Taking On Pandora & Linux...

Cool - now I know. Thanks! Got Coleco and Atari emulators running and loading ROMs. Thanks for your help, people! If I run into any more issues, I sure as heck know where to ask! :D

Super Newb Taking On Pandora & Linux...

HotFix3 installed. Now I've got a red light on the left side of my Pandora. I thought these things were supposed to have some silkscreened icons or something to tell me what the lighs mean... Codec pack installed. Now to try some emulators...

Super Newb Taking On Pandora & Linux...

Good question. I really don't know. Here's what I see, and what I'm doing: *Click SD card icon ("SD/MMC Drive") *Top of pop-up window: "mmcblk1p1 - File Manager" *Underneath: drive icon, "media" button, "mmcblk1p1" button (look like directories) *Icons on side, top to bottom: (my username)...

Super Newb Taking On Pandora & Linux...

Okay - all of the PNG files on my SD cards refuse to execute, including codecs and hotfix. I found my internal memory's desktop folder, but I don't want to execute from there, right?

Super Newb Taking On Pandora & Linux...

Gotcha. Ohhhhh...I see now. I was def. confused w/Hotfix vs. reflash! Okay; easy enough. Um...I didn't! I popped it in, and started making folders, and they seemed to work (in terms of being able to see them). D'OH! Is that it? With my Dingoo, I just threw a card in, and all worked fine...

Super Newb Taking On Pandora & Linux...

Hmmm, but it says to only do this "if I really need to". Do I? Also, how can I tell if my SD card is FAT32 formatted? And what's the "root" directory folder on my SD card? Is that the one I'm having a hard time making?

Super Newb Taking On Pandora & Linux...

Ah, yes - I get what you're saying here. I did try this as well, but it seemed to make no difference. :( I'll re-try just to make sure, and report back. So, unless stated as otherwise in the directions (as you say), the emulator will find the roms no matter what folder I place them in...or do...
