My Soul Died A Little Today.

I'm in Michigan too. Fortunately faulty nubs don't really ruin it as much as other things like display problems do. The cost and probable turnaround time are definitely deterring me from sending mine back in. I figure, I would be without it for a minimum of 2 weeks best case perfect world...

My Soul Died A Little Today.

I'm delaying sending mine in for repair. Both of my nubs have been faulty as long as I've had the Pandora. However, the nubs aren't too important to me right now nor do I feel like dropping the money to ship it out yet, so I am in no hurry to send it in, just as long as I do it within the...

    Post Your Dosbox Successes Here

Anybody have any luck getting Ultima 5 to run? It definitely works on the desktop version of DOSBox, but it hangs at the command line after running ultima.exe on the Pandora. I've changed the core settings, etc to no avail so far. Ultima 6 works perfect, even letting me use the dpad to move...

    Pandora Should Move To Android

Android is good in my phone (I like it infinitely better than my old, limited Blackberry OS), but wouldn't fit the Pandora as well. Of course, any port to Pandora is welcomed since most of us have no problem playing around with different OSes and applications on our device, but I will generally...

    Left Nub Problem

I think my nubs are in the exact same boat. Only x axis movement seems to work well doing the dance or not and what seems to be centered. Affects both nubs equally in mouse mode. Same problem on at least the left nub in the N64 emulator (don't know of a way to test the right in there). I'm...

    Problem With Pandora Controls

So there are no other ways to calibrate the nubs other than the 'dance'? I have done the dance, but no luck. Now maybe my nubs are faulty, but both nubs behave in the exact same way (y axis barely seem to be detected, if at all). If I switch my right nub to be the mouse pointer control, it does...

    I Got My Pandora

Got mine this past week and so far it is very good. I love the design, d-pad, buttons, etc. Software is still early, but I know it will quickly get better and better (some of it is already quite good). My only issue thus far is the nubs, which seem to be hit and miss for a lot of people. I'm...

    I Got My Pandora

Pandora 'arrived' yesterday. I put that in quotes because no one was home to sign for it :( Anyways, I received my shipping email on the 18th making it an only 8 day delivery for me in airmail to SE Michigan (USA) from the UK. Not too bad at all. USPS redelivery is scheduled for Monday.

    Got My Email!

Got my email on Friday. No idea what my queue position was because I never asked (I knew I was early). My confirmation email date when I ordered back in 2008 was 30 Sep 2008 14:26:58.0970 (UTC).

Release Pandora Now Has 256mb Of Ram And 512mb Internal Nand Storage

Specs increase is definitely welcome and I don't mind a slight delay for it. Remains to be seen how the situation behind this plays out. Hopefully nothing more than a slight hiccup and we still all have our Pandoras before the Christmas season!

    GP2X Ghostbusters On Gp2x

He's referring to the following post where the board automatically replaced one of the names of the Ghostbusters with the word "moron" and that the character referred to as moron just happened to be the only African-American Ghostbuster. moron Win ston Yes, the board does for some reason...

    Dynarec Completed For Psx4all Project.

Fantastic! I can't wait to see how far PS1 emulation on the GP2X can go. It's plenty impressive as it is and only going to get better. zodttd and all others working on this emulator are truly awesome. I mean that.

    New Firmware Soon!

Sorry, didn't mean to rile anyone up or help to start any wars by trying to defend mkv. I guess mkv support won't matter as much if h264 is never supported by the GP2X. h264 does not generally work too well in avi (it's a sloppy hack) and I don't think it works at all in ogm (I've never seen...

    New Firmware Soon!

Some advantages of mkv over ogm: Superior subtitle support (ssa subs, unicode support, etc) Less overhead of the container itself than OGM (there's a test of this available somwhere online) Better documentation and community support Variable frame rate video support There are probably others...

Any Actual Os's Ported To The Gp2x?

To those saying the GP2X has no mouse or keyboard, a mouse and/or keyboard could be connected via USB right? I don't know if the default OS supports these devices, but that's beside the point. The capability is still there, right? And as to whether or not the GP2X is suitable to be an...

    New Firmware Soon!

Actually the reverse is true. MKV can do anything OGM can do and more. There is nothing that OGM can do that MKV can't, but quite a bit that MKV can do that OGM can't. MKV has made OGM obsolete for multi-audio stream video files.

    Chrono Trigger

Some people take the "perfect emulation" term too seriously. You know what the person that says it (usually) means. It's a hell of a lot easier than saying extremely high compatability, all major hardware features emulated to a very, very playable state, and at a speed that is essentially the...

    Play Asia.com

I hope the odds of that are very, very low. I'll be ordering my GP2x next month, more than likely from playasia, unless some better local option arises by then (doubtful). Ya know, I think I want a puppet, like TelcoLou got... I ordered a flash cart several years back from lik-sang (I think...

    Gp32z.com Closing?

Damn. I was going to use gp32z.com whenever I finally decide to buy a gp2x and I've been considering it since before it's release. Getting the system+TV-Out cable+AC Adapter was actually cheaper through gp32z than Playasia if the free shipping on orders over $200 was considered. Playasia will...

    Movie Playback Capability Questions

I have been reading this forum pretty much ever since the GP2X was announced and have read over the various GP2X FAQs, and while emulation is covered well in this forum, I am left with some questions on the ability to play back video. I love emulation, but I am also hoping that the video...
