My Gp2x Still Works But ...

I have a good ol' MK1. I've never opened it, but it doesn't rattle when shook. I made sure the polarity was correct before plugging it in - besides, if I'd got that wrong the unit would never have started. I'm going to try the tinfoil thing on a whim - who knows? I'll report back after my next...

My Gp2x Still Works But ...

Ok this is weird, and I'm just throwing it out there because you never know. Firstly, I did a dumb thing. It didn't seem dumb at the time, but in retrospect, it was dumb. I plugged my GP2x into an AC adapter. Oh, I didn't do it lightly. I researched this forum to try and find the best kind etc...

    Tv-out... How Does It Work?

No. It has an SVIDEO connector on it. And for some bizarre, unfathomable reason, it's got a male connector. This means you'll need both an SVIDEO cable and a gender bender to get it to work. Someone in the design department was high the day they built it. Personally I never use mine.

    Video Sync Help!

I concur with most of what's been said here. If the video is very high quality, such as a 700mb AVI that you'd rip for normal viewing, then the sort of lag you're talking about can happen, basically because the GP2X's CPU is being hammered. Just because it can resize video on the fly, doesn't...

    Pocketsnes Version 2

Errr ... this may just be me, but I can't get back into the menu once I've loaded a rom. I did just copy the new installation over the old one - might that have anything to do with it? Cos SELECT no longer returns to the menu for me.

    Pocketsnes Released

Yay for the floating blue bubbles! And, FF6 is also playable at 200Mhz using PocketSNES. The reported FPS is crap, but the game is extremely playable - don't know how he did it.

    Gpfce Tv-out

Have you tried the TV-out Fixer? It's in the file archive somewhere. Basically, TV-out is handled by each programme individually. Now, some haven't focussed on TV-out as a main feature, and in these cases, the TV-out fixer can usually solve the problem. Good luck! BTW: it's a good idea to try...

What Are You Playing Right Now?

I yam currently playing: Sega: - Judge Dredd (silly) NES: - Super Mario Brothers 1 - Contra (bestest game) SNES: - Zelda - Link to the Past but I'm stuck because of a transparencies issue. I'm in that castle next to the desert and I'm facing down the triple snake boss, but I can't see any of...

    Video Problems

I think Vimacs is correct about the VBR audio, but even so, there are a few things to consider. AutoGK is not necessarily the best tool for this specific kind of ripping. AutoGK will always try to make the best quality file for a given file size - but the GP2X has fair modest requirements...

Where Can I Get A Psu (uk)?

The common thinking seems to be that the GP2X needs at least 1000mA. So, yours would be too wimpy - I hope you kept the receipt. Take it back and upgrade it.

Where Can I Get A Psu (uk)?

I'm curious about this. The Wiki would have me believe that all that's required is a 1000mA Adapter. So I went out and bought one. It sucked - got the flickering lines thing. Some people seem to think that a 2500mA transformer is better suited to the gig. What are your opinions? Does anyone...

    Tv-out Troubles

First of all, have you tried the TV-out fixer? It's somewhere in the file archive. I think the speaker issue was fixed in a firmware update at some point. Regardless, I get around this by getting my TV sound out of the headphone jack. Sorted.
