This was originally a kickstarter that promised open sourcing their project.

It's a 16* or 64* core arm processor that draws 2w of power.

Just something cool to look at. :)
 
i think its actually a co processor so it mightn't be good for the pyra.

it does have linux kernels pre-built, so it might be useful for other people that are into stuff like this.
 
Quite neat, but no GPU, so an OpenGL ES implementation have to be made using the majority of the cores.

Furthermore most applications are not parallel, so they will not run faster than on a 1Ghz Pandora today.
 
This particular board has a dual-core ARM + FPGA chip, but the Adapteva chip itself is merely their tiny core array. I'm still waiting for someone to actually present a broadly useful application of this chip.
