Bluetooth Mouse (how to permanently add it)

I recently bought a bluetooth mouse.

First of all, I was happy to see that getting it to work was merely a matter of enabling bluetooth ("System->Toggle Bluetooth Status"), then adding the device in the bluetooth preferences (right click on BT systray icon) (+ pressing the sync button on the mouse).

However, after suspending and resuming the Pandora, or switching the mouse off and on again, it does not work anymore.

It's still listed as "Bluetooth Optic Mouse" but clicking "Connect" (in the systray BT context menu) does not seem to do anything ("Disconnect" is grayed out) -- I have to remove the mouse, then re-add it, as described above.

Is there any way to permanently add the mouse ?

p.s.: almost forgot: Sound output stopped working after enabling Bluetooth. My lucky guess is that its been re-routed to a (non-existent) BT speaker -- in that case, how do I prevent that from happening / reset it to use the regular audio device again ?
