Can Someone Please Test These N64 Games For Me?

I'm curious as to how well these N64 games run. I don't have a Pandora myself (Yet; only $64 away!), so I can't test.

  • Bangai-O (AKA Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh)
  • Mischief Makers
  • Sin and Punishment
  • 007: The World is Not Enough
  • Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth
  • All 4 of the Bomberman games
  • The Cruis'n trilogy
  • Blast Corps
  • Perfect Dark (I'll be damned if it's playable, but I'm just curious)
  • Ridge Racer 64

I know this seems a lot, but if you have the right morals (or lack of them ;) ), it isn't. Can someone please enlighten me on this? The more details for each, the better. Thanks.

Yes, but seeing Evil's recent video, some of that seems to be outdated. (For example, Castlevania is listed as Not Working in the chart, yet it ran fine in the video.)

Yes some were tested on an earlier Muppen Version. I re-tested on the latest version all of them on the list and if I got different results I updated the list.

I seem to recall Castlevania not working on the latest release. Hmmm

Which "recent video" of Evils are you talking about ?

The N64 video. What else?

Also, thanks for the info update, but I don't see anything changed in the list. (For example, Mischief Makers is not on the list, yet it's in the thread.)

Well a link would be nice. Sheesh. :p

NM I found it.

I wonder if that is the Pal version. It is noted as working fine.

I will re-test some gmaes for you Thursday if you want me to.

Ok here are the results. All with the latest Muppen64. 800mhz cpu. Frame Render Rate = 2 :

Title: Mischief Makers
Region: NTSC
Format: z64
Emulator Version: mupen64plus-r1b3-fixed-snd (with notaz' sound-plugin)
Status: Playable
CPU Speed: 800
Comments: Menus half speed with slight sound glitches.Intro 1/4 speed with horrible sound. Takes forever to get in game. Barely playable in game because of the slow-down. Frame Render Rate = 2 speeds it up a bit but not full speed actually around half speed.

Thank you very much. Shame that the emulator can't be improved too much from what I hear.

My copy of Perfect dark does run on the latest version somehow? Will post a vid later.

You're right. I had to push start while it was loading and it worked. Updated my post.

Just a heads up - The sound on 007: TWINE was encoded in a really weird was on the cartridges, and so is very hard to reproduce in emulators (I'm not exactly sure about the specifics, but I've never found an emulator that correctly plays sound). In most cases, the game will either be mute, or play a weird scratchy sound during speech (FX are usually ok). I also don;t think thus will ever be fixed, because it is the only game for which this applies, which results in a very low cost-benefit for the development time needed to fix it.
