If you can't understand the appeal of laserdisc games, then most likely you weren't even born when they were the cutting edge of the arcade parlour.

Man, we're not just talking about the excellent Don Bluth Studios Dragon's Lair and Space Ace here, there were some awesome "rail" shooters based on laserdisc. At the time they kicked anything else you could play for a couple of coins, as far as sheer eye candy delight.

We dint have none of them fancy third di-mensional doozies back in them days, sonny, I'd lay bets you aint even given these classics a fair chance. Why that so called mega-cd was little more than a walkman stuck on some old box from japan!

Impetuousness of youth, never changes, nope.

The PC version (which I have), I used to think was very poor cos it wasn't DVD resolution. Turns out it's perfect GP2X size :D Hopefully, they won't need re-encoding into divx, and the Daphne emulator will have its own mpg decoder.

edit: Plus all the mpg files are individually listed on the CD unprotected :)

I think it would be a great addition to the GP2X library. They were just as "great" as the Lucas art point and click games, and definetley better looking at that. Granted, ive never played any Lucas art or Laserdisc games, but Im hoping this will entice me enough to to find teh romzzzz. :D

Yes, point at Dragon's Lair and those type of laserdisc games and laugh.

Have any of you nay sayers actually played the laserdisc shooters tho? Great visuals, and a bit of sci fi shootemup?

If not, try them before judging. We're not talking about pointless remakes on consoles here, we're talking about the nostalgia for the originals that originated way back in 1982. Damn kids.

Besides, if you want to rant about how much you don't like these games, start another thread for gawd's sake. With a poll! :p
