open pandora tab

  • cheaper to make
  • allows for wider audience
  • more touch oriented programs
  • better android support
iControlPad[custom]

  • cheap to make
  • holds extra parts not in OPTAB
  • universal remote[of sorts]
  • wide compatibility
  • ergonomic controls
fusion hinge

  • aluminum build [durable and premium]
  • quad thumbscrew locking mechanism [for easy loosening/fastening]
  • separate accessory to help bring in funds [overpriced]
  • how hard is it to build [or outsource]?

pretty similar to Mr_Loons concept.

I like the cumbersome hinge a lot.  I hope it has very pokey corners too, which look like sword tips from here.

You won't be surprised to hear that I like the concept.

Not sure exactly how your hinge would work, could you do a rough sketch?

How would you get around the top heavy nature of the design?

I'd be worried about the ergonomics of having a standard size ICP2 as the base.

A word of advice, don't call the top section a tablet, call it a mini computer with built in touch screen  ;)

That hinge looks cumbersome.
What do you think of this idea for a hinge section?

the balance shouldn't be a problem if the table...err, the mini computer with built in touch screen is light enough. the galaxy note 2 is only 178g but the P1 is 335g, if the p2 top was 200g it wont be enough weight to tire the wrist for a few hours.

It doesn't have to be an actual icp2, but maybe a compatible icp3...
