from what i hear they have cut mem useage in half (it was already good) and have added tabed browsing!

first release in 4 years!

www.dillo.org read the changelog

dillo was a life saver on my 64mb ram laptop since any firefox or opera swaped on the disk like crazy
 
Tabbed browsing is fantastic news. I don't care so much about its general abilities (which were pretty poor IIRC as of 4 years ago) in rendering because I just need something to read manuals and technical stuff on my ancient laptop I use as a terminal. I suppose I could set up an X server on my main box to serve up a firefox window but I prefer native apps if they aren't console. Will check this new release out.
 
I mean no disrespect to the dillo devs, but webkit is about as small as you'd need a browser engine to be and it's full-featured.
 
Its good to know the project is still going but I prefer something with more features like firefox. I only rarely use dillo for offline html manuals where its nice to have instant startup.
