Linux is open s/w , so you will be able to run MP-3 encoders

and hook USB HDD and ATAPI CDD/burners to GP2X .

Unless GPh installed defective hardware , the 920ARM has

2 USB host 2.0 channels . and much more .

At worst you may have to study the forums for

Linux modules that enhance the OpSys . and upgrade

by writting them to an SD card .

And Linux will be replaced with an easier/more powerful OpSys .

GPH is Asian , so they cant sell all the features and

out compete the USA PDA makers ,

its politcal , they'd soon be barred from exporting to

USA , so they must pretend its disabled or crippled ( USB host )

So the future is bright for a modified GP2X to carry a HDD

and serve as UHP ( USB host ) to digi-cams and JVC 77 video-cams

and all those other USB devices ...

I think WIFI should be outside w/ its own battteries :

GP2X__>>>__USB-host-cable__>>>__WIFI-box-$50-802.11g

GP2X can does what Nintendoesn't ;)

Seriously, we allready knew these things, in fact they are advertised (take a look at the break-out board), its not a political thing.

That makes a lot of sense. I guess that's why asian PDAs so frequently make their way to the states (Not just Samsung, ASUS also goes to mind..) The GP2X is in no way useful as a PDA, however, so it would never 'out compete the USA PDA makers'. It doesn't even have a touchscreen and the only PDA software is user created and isn't even part of the firmware.

Maybe he's called 'werty' because that's easy to type with a straitjacket on (just slide your nose along the keyboard).
