bja says:
Hotkey daemon is a simple program that runs in the background waiting for
a specified key combination to be pressed. When the specified combinantion
is detected, it launches a predefined application.

It can be used to restart the gp2xmenu without restarting the device or
using a telnet session.

The default installation comes with two sample applications.
- blctrl toggles the lcd display on and off.
- fbsave takes a screen shot and stores it in raw format. It can be
converted to png with the supplied raw2png tool.

Yes, there's an error in the hotkey.gpu launch script. There should be a '&' at the end of line 21. Sorry about that.

Hope that helps,

Well this seems infinitely useful .. the way I see it you could even use this to easily run more than one program and flip between them with button combos. Excellent work.

Well, my next project is a sort of system monitor type thing. Pressing the hotkey will suspend all (user) running processes, save the screen, and display the system monitor. This monitor will display information about the system (like top) and allow you to kill processes as well as create new ones. Well, that's the plan anyway. This far I only have a window drawn on top of a suspended gp2xmenu. But that's fun too :)
