How do you enable the console in Quake 3?

I'm trying to go for slowed down version of the game by setting "timescale .50" for example, but I'd need the console for this. Hitting ~ doesn't work. Is there any particular key, or is it possible to set the parameter on app launch?

thanks for any clues!

It should create a config file (forgot the name... been a while.. perhaps the autoexec one?..) in the quake3 appdata folder on the SD card.. you maybe able to add that there...

Figured it out, you have to hit ` (Fn+H) to get to the console!

And the config file is not there, but hidden in the pk3 files, which basically are just zipped or similar files and openable with squeez, 7zip etc.

Wait, can you use console commands? I knew about the FN+H key, but it says tty console mode failed. I looked that up, and it appears to be a build issue :/

If you can type things in your console, I must be doing something wrong...

You're right, it doens't work. Maybe adding parameters works, but I have no idea how to do that on Linux / a Pandora...

I think you need to fix it, then recompile the engine.
Also, do custom mods work? I tried Open Arena but it crashed :/

Oh but custom maps work, except the simpsons map is too big...
