Hu6280 Now Has Cdrom Support!

Woooo !!! marvellous !
Run very well... How will you manage too run iso with music ?
mp3 or ogg decoding take too machine time...
...and wav take too many place.
---
Screenscaling isn't really important. If you think frameskip are
for little girl... What scaledscreen and killed pixel are ?
---
how too explain that... In game like SONSON2 I got strange effects
on sprites when the screen scroll... trembles ... shakes slowly.
---
I got some wrong line display in some game. (top of the screen)
---

Stop !!! It's one of the best emulator on our gp2x...
I'll make a donation soon ...

Ok got it now, I think my SD card had not refreshed properly and the new files not seen..

Anyway Gradius II works very well..

Out of interest, you do not need to include all the WAVs, just the track 02 ISO file. The Iso is about 6mb

This will keep space down a lot (until/when/if cd sound support is available).

:D

So so I used the tool indicated by Vobbo, and ripped my original Gradius II PCE CDROM, I got the following files in a dir called "Gradius II - Gofer no Yabou (J)":

18/06/2006 22:06 7,914,524 Gradius II - Gofer no Yabou (J)-01.wav

18/06/2006 22:06 1,042 Gradius II - Gofer no Yabou (J).toc

I have put them into:

/mnt/sd/roms/pcengine/iso/

Do they go in the Gradius dir, in the root of the above?

I have also changed the config file to point there...

Any ideas, nothing is showing up on the menu?

Is the auto naming OK? Are spaces allowed? ?Mixed case?

Help.....

I too, am slighty confused with this.

Dont be confused!

It only boots ISO images at the moment... that means no CDDA audio tracks at all...

You can just play the games for now!

If in doubt of which track to boot, boot track #2 - 95% of PC-Engine CD's use track #2 as the data track.

ISO files show up in the menu selector, just like roms, just select one and play... simple!
Thats because track one is a audio track for CD players incase you put it in there telling you that it is a PE engine game disk and not music...or something like that in Japan speak !

take the Gradius II - Gofer no Yabou (J)-02.iso and rename it something sensible like gradius2.iso , then copy it into your ISO directory indicated by your hu6280.ini file, then gradius2.iso will show up on your list of roms, select it just like a hucard and it will run.

I'll make a donation soon ...

can anyone translate this? IS he dissing my emu? ;)

First I though he wasn't. Then I thought he was. Then I am now not sure. He seems to say its good then that its bad and then to stop and then that its the best. I can only assume that he wants to keep it in a incomplete state due to some sort or checkign disorder. Or he has used babelfish to translate.

So, which CDRom games have people been playing today?

I've just played StarParodia all the way to the end!! That game rocks.

I`m now playing Dynastic Hero , it rocks too!

Thanks for this Vobbo.

So far I have tried Nexzr, Lords of Thunder and Rayxanber 3. They are all working, though the graphics layer for the score in Rayxanber 3 is garbled.

Nice work - certainly made my evening :D

I think he is just saying he wants cd sound but mp3 ogg take too much processing power and wav is too large.
then he says screen scaling isn't important because it will look bad.
then he complians about some graphic problems or something in sonson2.
some more graphic problems
not sure why there is stop but he seems to like your emulator or something

I need some ISOs still :(

They are two completely different games. Spriggan 1 is a vertical shooter with an awesome powerup system and great graphics. I really prefer it to Spriggan 2, but they are both great games.

Thank you so much vobbo.
Donated just before this post. You really deserve it (even if I voted for a better sound emulation ;-) )
I haven't tried any Pce Cd-rom for the moment but I think I'm going to test some ISO that wasn't working on Gp2XEngine.

Thanks again for your hard work vobbo !
