I was seeing how much a pandora sent to me would cost, and I noticed there's 20% VAT.

Where does this go to, are these all just import taxes?

If I order a pandora, can it be sent as a 'gift' or something, so I'm not charged these ridiculous taxes?

Just saying, 62 pounds makes a big difference...

Edit: I'm in Belgium :)

There are no import taxes inside European Union Customs Union which both UK and Belgium belong to. Similarily there's a law that VAT is only paid once in the country where imported item is sold. This VAT is already included in price you are charged - no needs to worry about.

Oh, thanks. I was wondering about that.
