I've had a good look round but cant find anything. I may be being a complete belm though...
 
Squeeze, iirc.

Squeeze was installed by default on both my original unit and its replacement, as far as I know. (That or maybe the Community Codec Pack puts it there?)
 
The 7zip command line tools are open source and exist for linux, and work fine. The pandora probably has these installed by default. But the graphical frontend in Windows relies on Windows API calls, so it won't work without some kind of translation or rewrite. You'll need to use something like squeeze for a graphical frontend.
