LinBall for GP2X [ video ]

So the GP2X will get pinball, one of the few missing pieces in its library :)

It looks to run very well, looking forward to release.

So I see the news about Linball are spreading ;)
Few days ago StreaK asked me if I could release the alpha version.
Well, here it is:
http://wade.hu/~zear/gp2x/linball-gp2x-prealpha.tar.bz2
(unfortunately the server is down, so here's the mirror)
As you can see the main problem with GP2X port is the strange behavior of the ball.
It bounces randomly off the play area. On the video you can see that it's almost impossible to get it to the bonus hole (even with the help of the additional lane I made for tests).
It also seems to bounce off some invisible obstacles.
I have no idea what causes it, however the exact same binary (!) runs fine on another arm-linux based device - Jornada 720.
I'm in contact with the author of Linball, and from what he said I understand he is working on a new physics engine.
Hopefully this will fix the problems with GP2X version.

I'm a huge pinball fan, great to see a homebrew pinball game for the GP2X. Physics are not very good indeed. The openmoko version seems to be playing a lot better.
Will be waiting patiently for a more playable version :)

Just tried it and yes it's a bit crazy, but it seems to run very fast which is always a good thing :)

Good luck zear!

Actually, I had to slow down the game speed, because originally it was insane :D

A video of LinBall ported to GP2X by zear from forum.openpandora.pl. Still in wip beta release. No official build released to the public.

Judging by the table I that was featured in the video, I would say the gp2x deserves better. Sorry.

The pinball game for gp32 was very good, the gp2x's should be better.

Is there a good genesis pinball game?
