I participate on the project OSM and i want something to help me to improve quikly OSM
a voicerecorder would be great to record information of POI but i want somthing to edit directly a map. On my PC i use JOSM but it use Java and on Pandora we don't have Java. I found merkaartor that's use QT maybe someone can compile it for Pandora?

I see no one are realy interested on porting apps to help me (and over) to work on the OSM project may be i have to wait for more people with Pandora or do my self the work (i have to try some day to cross compil something for the Pandora ^^)

I have found some realy good apps for N900:
-OSM2Go http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Osm2go
-MaemoMapper http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/maemo-mapper/

No sorry, I just overlooked your post.

I've done Merkaartor 0.16.3 and it run on pandora. I'll let you (or someone else) report on usage :p

Thank you. I have tried to edit a little zone imported from OSM and it work and it work too downloading directly from Internet OSM page. The problem is the Pandora screen a little too little but i can now work on the go and add some waypoint quickly.

I don't try using gpsd because i don't have my Bluetooth GPS with me

I've seen the screen issue (just before posting here), but I cant help you much for that (obviously).
I don't think gpsd will work (well, as I didn't build it, I'm pretty sure it wont :D)
If it's needed, I can have a look :)

If you want an other client, let me know :) (but keep in mind that I don't like python...)

I have configured and now i have better sceen using some shortcut.

Maybe OSM2Go would be better for Pandora sceen has it designed for N800/N900 screen in mind

So is this ready for file archive uploading ?

(I tried osm2Go shortly and had trouble with it. Make sure it reached the port request wiki page)

i have found a fork of the maemo mapper for Linux if you can give it a try http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Onion/Mapper#Mapper http://mapper.tal.org/index.php/mapper:sources

Could you update merkaator ( in the list of changes for Merkaartor 0.17.0: Add a "portable" mode to merkaartor via command-line ("-p") or build setting ("PORTABLE=1")) and compile a gpsd version (i have buy a blutooth GPS recever BT 338)?

Post this in a "port request" thread please.

Updated merkaator to 0.17.0 (without the build flag).
I didnt build gpsd (and merkaator dont have lib bluetooth nor libgps linked). I may do that later.

I've updated the PXML to fix the category as ED reported me yesterday that it was wrong.

I've uploaded here, but I ddn't tested anything. (not even if it does run)
