i often had sound errors when trying to encode files with a version of VDUB that would give small sizes
the best way around i found was downloading the latest version of VDUB, isntalling it somewhere else (thus not overwriting the version you already got), and rip the sound with it, it has options to skip sound errors etc... and it lets you rip the audio to a correct wav file (wich is big, better have som HD space left), then use that wave file in stead of the original audio in the version of VDUB that gives you the best filesize
