I haven't used it in a long time so that might have something to do with it?

Anyway the right LEDs are [clear][clear][red flashing][green]

Red flashing means that the unit is on, but on low charge.

So it should turn on anyway.

I'd say, plug in on AC, use pandora button + power switch to reset it, wait for a good charge, then reflash the unit with the latest firmware:

Keep it plugged in for an hour or two and see if that helps. If the battery is very empty, it has to slowly charge to some level before you can boot and charge faster.

I guess I'll try it in a few hours... worried the LCD went bad or something, but is there any sound notification on post/boot or a sequence of lights?

Nope.

Totally discharged batteries can take a while before being re-enabled.

for a few times I had to take out the battery and put it in again to boot up the pandora, can`t recall why anymore.

I still can't get any display... now that it's charged the green light just goes from dim to bright whenever i hit the power button

So there's indeed a problem with the display.

Maybe you can try to reseat the lcd cable on the board.

Just rescrew lightly to avoid damaging the plastic case.

More tricky is the connector at the rear of the screen.

Yup, LCD cabled looked fine, but i used my stylis to push in both sides of it and it went in a little bit, now it boots fine.... Sadly it seems one of the screws holes on the case is stripped :( but atleast it's booting now!
