Terminalprog for external system

I have an embedded system which is controlled with a terminal program (picocom in Linux). How can I use it with OP?

Which program do I need, maybe in Slackware?

use with picocom (ubuntu)

picocom -b 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0

The default SZ firmware seems to come with a copy of minicom. I've no idea how to drive it, but for starters I'd try:

sudo minicom -b 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0

...and see if that gets you anywhere.

Note you'll need to observe standard Pandora USB operating procedures, such as not connecting a USB1.1 device to the big USB port except through a hub.

Edit: -b, not -c!

Thanks for the info.

I tried minicom with a hub but got the message /dev/ttyUSB0 not found.

Is there a program for Slackware ?

It may be labeled differently /dev/ttyACM0 or something like that..
I suggest running a directory listing and seeing what shows up:

Code:
ls /dev/tty*

There is no /ttyACM0 showing. When setting USB0 or ACM0 I get error message "not found". With dmesg the new device is showing . Is there no other program or tip ?

do you see any /dev/tty devices when doing the directory listing like I suggested in my prior post? if you don't see any you may have an issue with the USB not working properly. if that is the case no program will work if it's not detecting your serial device.

What are the rights on the device ?
with SuperZaxxon by default should have authority to the tty devices as all user belong to the wheel group which should allow anyone to access the tty devices.

this is from slackware but the same in SZ

I hope this helps.

So that's the same list of tty devices I have when I don't have a USB Serial device plugged in.. indicating that it's not creating the device..

Can you share the dmesg output when you plug it in? something isn't working right..

Yeah it's a bit odd, I have a few Serial tty devices that works fine on my Pandora, however not sure it's CP2102 based.
