The Power Of Mame?

I also doubt that MAME has an ARM backend for its recompilers, so games that benefit from these on PC will have to use the slower interpreter cores instead. Of course this can change in time.
MAME DRC only targets PPC and x86 (both 32- and 64-bit).

And I guess MAME is getting really slower now that it has started moving toward multi-threading and C++.

So definitely someone will have to make a dedicated ARM port for later games.

Does anyone have any predictions on how well STUN Runner might run? I imagine that the analog pad would be good for precise steering... if it runs well.
To get some idea you can take a look here: http://benchmark.mameworld.info/
This shows that a P3 933MHz running MAME 0.102 got 41.0 FPS.

Thanks Laurent :)

There goes my chance of running NBA JAM full speed on the Pandora.

Just hope the lower version of MAME makes it run better then this person's results.

ROM MAME Build CPU MHz FPS
nbajam 0.102 Intel Pentium III 933 40.0

Doesn't NBA jam use the same hardware as Mortal Kombat? In which case it will run fine.

Some of these things already run great on the *WIZ*.

Yes, the HW is almost the same.
For this kind of information, there's a great resource: http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/

Thanks for replying guys it should run great if hardwares like MK1 so happy :)

I guess my dreams of MK2 running full speed will have to postpone until Panda 2 is released :p

Seeing as the MK2 hardware is similar to the MK1 hardware I see no reason why the Pandora won't run it fine. I think the Wiz can run MK2.

You don't have a Pandora atm to check this properly atm Craig? I thought I read you did not at this time?

The big thing that makes MK2,MK3 from what I can see harder to emulate is the DCS Audio it used.

Hmmm.. quite a few 90's games used it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Compression_System :)
