Has anyone gotten this to work on their pandora?
I put the games files in pandora/urquan/content/packages
and get nothing doesn't load (minimenu restarts)
I put the game files in pandora/appdata/content/packages (which is what the readme says, and I frankly think is a mistake) and still get nothing.

game files need to be in pandora/appdata/uqm/content/packages

I bet /pandora/appdata/uqm.pickle is empty? And you're using minimenu?

(if so, get hotfix #2 beta or get it as soon as it goes official, and wipe out any empty appdata directories. minimenu, when creating a preview and the older version of minimenu, was accidentally creating an extra appdata directory.))

Probably explains the extra directory (ie: uqm and uqm.pickle).

jeff

I have hotfix #2 and have wiped out the useless directories.

Also my games files are in those directories.

I have (in the packages directory)
folder called "addons"
3 files called
uqm-0.6.0-3domusic.uqm
uqm-0.6.0-content.uqm
uqm-0.6.0-voice.uqm

And I still get the uqm.pickle directory after running again.

I don't want to sidetrack, but curious about your directories thing.

Looking at dl.openhandhelds I see the UQM pnd, and it has PXML: <application id="uqm.pickle" appdata="uqm">

ie: it shoudl be showing up as /pandora/appdata/uqm

Are you using minimenu or xfce?

Sounds like you're using minimenu, and an older version, but hotfix #2 shoudl sort that out. If you're adventurous with Thunar, take a look at /usr/bin/mmenu and let me know how vbig the file is exactly (or use Terminal and type "ls -l /usr/bin/mmenu" and let me know what it says.)

jeff

I use terminal and this is what I get.

Code:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 146199 Jun 8 12:57 /usr/bin/mmenu

Looking in fileManager thunar (because I'm brave enough :D) I found that it is 142.8kb

seems like a current minimenu

See, the thing I find very odd is -- I can run the very same uqm pnd file (assumign you downloaded it from dl.openhandhelds archive), and I get only the uqm directory when I run it, or get the preview pic for it.

I dont' get the uqm.pickle directory.

Where'd you get the file? perhaps do a fresh download from dl.openhandhelds?
http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/pandora.cgi?0,0,0,0,29,85

I wonder if you have an old broken one?

Otherwise, I have no idea where your uqm.pickle directory is coming from, if you've removed it. (ie: hotfix #2 shoudl make it not appear again, if you've killed it.)

jeff

Okay my mistake... it didn't reappear but nonetheless I can't get ur-quan masters to start.

I can't get it to start either. I've got exactly the same files as HackModford and tried all the combinations of directories suggested. Tried it from XFCE and minimenu, but no joy.

It works for me .. I have my files in pandora/appdata/uqm/content/packages .. my SD card is formatted ext2, so maybe there is an issue with cases in the filenames?

I have the same problem - do the content files need to be renamed from their defaults at all?

I'm using FAT32 (and I'm not changeing now... was a nightmare to format the card in the first place!)

I got the exact same problem :( My SD card is FAT32 as well.

I also had the uqm.pickle folder. I have tried killing both folders, running uqm again and then copying the files back but to no avail :(

Any ideas?

Still can't get this to work either. I'm using uqmasters.pnd that I've downloaded numerous time from apps.open-pandora.org and I've got the following files in pandora/appdata/uqm/content/packages

uqm-0.6.0-3domusic.uqm
uqm-0.6.0-voice.uqm
uqm-0.6.0-content.uqm

Formatting the card to ext2 made no difference at all. Seems strange that this doesn't seem to work for some people when the configuration appears to be the same. Or am I missing something obvious?
