folks,
this is much like a proof that pandora really IS a full computer
I've successfully connected lots of usb devices, but still need a little help making some of them actually work.

youtube video

in the high speed AC powered hub connected directly to pandora usb host
- microsoft wireless optical mouse
- sony internal dvd/cdrw thru usb2ide adapter
- nokia E71 (pc suite mode)
- full speed hub (not 2.0)

in the full speed hub
- two gamepads
- webcam
- usb powered speakers

works out-of-the-box
no software support
no firmware support

Questions:
1) how to enable multiple gamepads? And make one of them primary, for example.
2) how to recompile the kernel with specific firmware support? I have a webcam and a usb tv tuner in that situation. They are recognized but not probed automatically.

Linux will create more event and js devices for multiple joysticks automatically. I don't know about making them primary. I guess it's just the order you put them in or based on udev rules, but then there's the existent gamepad that is the pandora itself, so I honestly don't know how to override that at runtime.

For your second question, if it's trying to load a firmware and it doesn't exist, you'll need to find the firmware file and put it in /lib/firmware. It might be part of the v4l or dvb (I forget what they call it now.) project, or may need to be extracted from the Windows driver, which will be specific to the driver, so you'll need to search around the internet.

Is the existing gamepad actually treated as a gamepad? I thought it was just treated as keyboard cursor keys plus pgup, pgdn, home, end, ctrl, alt?

If so then, ignoring the analogues for one minute, getting the first gamepad to over rule the built in one should be a case of mapping the appropriate buttons to the appropriate keys...

how to find a webcam driver for logitech?

sth. like spca5xx ? but in the repo, I am fail in installing the spcav1...

i'm lost too, finding the drivers may not be the worst problem, installing them it is, i think

in logitech‘s answer, there seems to be a pretty good driver --UVC and its compatible webcam.

Maybe who has these kinds of webcam can try such driver...
