Hi all,
I am working on a solution to quickly configure USB keyboards correctly.
The default xmodmaprc file which is loaded at startup (~/.pndXmodmap) reflects the layout of the Pandora's keyboard, which is completely non-standard.
So no matter if I connect a German, UK, US or whatever keyboard, the keys are never mapped correctly.
What I plan to do:
I'd like to put a collection of preconfigured xmodmap files into a directory and create a simple GUI which allows to choose one of those files. The chosen one is then loaded with xmodmap.
This should work using the touchscreen / mouse, in case the keyboard is messed up.
My question:
Where can I find preconfigured xmodmap files? I searched on google, but didn't find such files.
I suspect they might be included in some Linux distributions, but I don't ave one handy now.
For me personally, I'd only need two, maybe three files: DE, US, UK. But it wold be nice if I could include some other common ones, e.g. for FR, CZ, ES, PL etc.
So if anyone knows a source for such files, please let me know!
Thanks,
Daniel
