My GP2X is behaving wierdly. If I run it off batteries, the display looks fine, but the batteries run out extremely quickly (I'm using 2500mAh NIMh cells). If I run off the power supply, the display is much dimmer than usual - the green loading screen looks more 'yellow', but the games run fine.

Anybody know what's going on? Could it be anything to do with the fact that one of the capacitors (metal capped) fell out a few months ago?

How many amps is the supply enable to supply?
If it's rated below 700MhA that might be the problem.
You could also try a different set of batteries, by the way, how quick is extremely quick?

It is never good if stuff fallout of the unit :p
In any case the same thing happened to me, and since I had voided the warranty earlier I solderd it back.
If you dont feel like doing that, you should send it to your retailor.

Try fully discharging your batteries and charging them again, this fixed simillar issues for some people.

The power supply can do 3 amps. Unfortunately the unit came from a private sale so I can't send it back to get the cap fixed.

I'll try fully discharging the batteries.

Think I'll sell it and get a mark 2 instead though...
