so.
first, my joystick cap broke.
this is no real problem, as ive been playing like this for a while.
but today, marvel versus capcom, trying to hadoken.
spinnig the hell out of the joystick.
then....SNAP.
my joystick goes limp.
i think i broke the spring.

the joystick cannot be controlled.
so possible solutions?

should i get a d pad mod?
is it worth that?
should i try and replace the spring from the inside? as in take it apart?
should i trash it and get a psp?

what to do what to do......
any suggestions?

I think this is a relatively common problem. I think you need to 'jiggle' the joystick around until it clicks into place - have a search on the forum as I'm sure there have been several posts about it.

Mine does that every month or two in hard play, I hold it straight up and down and give it a good thump with the middle finger and thumb and it snaps back up and works just fine until I'm crushing it full force and trying to turn and spin in heretic or something. You can get new joystick caps at play-asia.

Don't feel dumb, it really does seem like it's broken when it happens. This question comes up about once a month. :) It should be part of a must-read document for new users or something.

Yeah, it really seems broken when it happens. Don't feel bad. I freaked out the first time it happened to mine. Just try to be a little more gentle. ;)
