Wicked Amiga 1200, Ridiculous Price!

Cool project, but seems pricey for what amounts to a regulatr Ami 1200, with a screen bolted onto it?

Its not like a cusotm case hack or anything is it?

Sold my beloved A1200 last month, same specs minus the screen.
Doing A1200 stuff on my EeePC now. Uae is an excellent emulator, I can do more things emulated than I did on my A1200 and all that with a very small footprint...

I kept my A600 for nostalgic reasons... I sold my gp2x to get a pandora but this machine gets a later release date every week... I hope the delay gives us an excellent machine to make amiga emulation even smaller.

I'm addicted to ebay, it's just not healthy! I did find this though, whilst brilliant, anyone thinking a tad costly??

I have an amiga 1200 with just about the same specs that I got for less than 200 8 years ago. The only real difference is I use an external scsi cd-rom and his is a case mod with the notebook cdrom. The screen can't cost more than 200. This thing is so over priced it's ridiculous. Now if it was custom made like the atari 800 laptop and therefor was a real laptop, it might be worth 800, but certainly not 1200 or 1400bin.

Look at this one:

People seem to think these machines are worth so much more than they really are.
You could buy a new amiga 1200 a case a ppc upgrade with scsi and a video card and money left over than to buy this machine. Maybe if it had the top end video toaster board and a kick ass software package then someone might get it for video stuff, but not the way it's configured. The guy probably bought it for $5 at a flea market and plans on paying his next mortgage payment with it.
