This is some kind of driver and configuration app that allows people to control x11 desktop with the wii remote. It has support for the nunchuk, classic controller and the wii guitar hero controller. Hopefully it could work with the wii rockband 2 drum kit as well, which would be awesome as an inexpensive electronic drum kit with the pandora and the right software ;)

So since the Pandora has bluetooth, wii remotes and wireless wii sensor bars are readily available and the source code for this app is available for download from the website, could it be ported so we can use the wii remote and its attachments in interesting ways with the Pandora?

Sorry dude :D I did search and I found nothing about XWii or whether or not it's a good candidate for a port. I guess I should've searched more.

This would rock for some TV-Out + FPS action. Hell, I could lay on the couch and play Heroes of Might & Magic 2. =O

I need this now. ; ;

Didn't someone say that binaries for the upcoming Nokia N900 will possibly be compatible with the pandora? Cause someone has already starting porting Frets on Fire to it. http://jyro.blogspot.com/2009/03/frets-on-...-fremantle.html
Even if I'm crazy and the binaries aren't compatible, I can't help but think if it can be ported to the N900, certainly it can be ported to the pandora. But then again, I can't remember why we decided it wouldn't work before, and I have to go to bed, so I don't have time to scrounge up that old thread.

EDIT: Fixed confusing grammar mistake.

As have been said several times, there are several libraries that let you use the Wiimote on Linux. XWii is a driver constructed using the wiiuse library ( http://wiiuse.net ) and I have done several successful tests with libwiimote ( http://libwiimote.sourceforge.net/ ) on Ubuntu, so I'm sure there will be no problems to use the wiimote on Pandora... if programmers want to add Wiimote support in their games and applications.

The reason I posted about Xwii is because using this kind of wrapper for key and mouse binding is imho better than forcing programmers to add support, or have end users go without support because it hasn't been added to game x or app y.

Since the Pandora os is a multitasking environment, Xwii could be run at start up and run in the background or started up as needed. Though I have no idea about what kind of overhead this app would require to run in the background.

And before anyone suggests it, I don't have the skills required to port it myself. :(
