Hi there,
Indeed. I suspect that something in the omapfb is different and the plain debian xorg (assuming to be built against kernel 3.2 headers!) is not aware of that. We have one patch in our code so that it provides a “name” entry somewhere in the /sys nodes. Otherwise the stable xorg wouldn’t find anything.
Almost forgot, with the gta kernel i get these: [ 14.577329] omapfb omapfb: Unknown ioctl 0x40187a22 [ 14.582500] omapfb omapfb: Unknown ioctl 0x40187a21
And they don't appear with the other kernel. I think it’s just fbturbo probing around for stuff though.
I think there are fbdev configure options - and we might be missing some.
I mean these:
# CONFIG_FB_CFB_REV_PIXELS_IN_BYTE is not set # CONFIG_FB_SYS_FILLRECT is not set # CONFIG_FB_SYS_COPYAREA is not set # CONFIG_FB_SYS_IMAGEBLIT is not set # CONFIG_FB_FOREIGN_ENDIAN is not set # CONFIG_FB_SYS_FOPS is not set # CONFIG_FB_SVGALIB is not set # CONFIG_FB_MACMODES is not set # CONFIG_FB_BACKLIGHT is not set
Xorg might check for their presence. Can you check with your other kernel(s) how they are defined?
# CONFIG_FB_CFB_REV_PIXELS_IN_BYTE is not set CONFIG_FB_SYS_FILLRECT=y CONFIG_FB_SYS_COPYAREA=y CONFIG_FB_SYS_IMAGEBLIT=y # CONFIG_FB_FOREIGN_ENDIAN is not set CONFIG_FB_SYS_FOPS=y # CONFIG_FB_SVGALIB is not set # CONFIG_FB_MACMODES is not set # CONFIG_FB_BACKLIGHT is not set
I'll see if it makes any difference with those options enabled.
