England V France

I think football is a lot better than that other welsh sport :D
:p

People who don't like football (and it is football, soccer came from Associated Football and was used as slang in universities many years ago) bug me. To really love a team and to care so much is one of the best feelings in the world!
Yeah, I can't get enough of that loutish screaming, shouting and football hooliganism. Violence, racism, drunkenness and surly insults. People who really like football bug me.

Footballs all about sweaty men hugging eachother... doesn't appeal to me really.

American football - a game played by men with funny shaped balls :D.

I'm pretty sure the numbers of people who like football are dwindling its just so boring watching football is arguably a step worse maybe people are realising this : / yeyyy i'm going 2 get flamed

I won't flame you :) But I think Rico's point is about the people on the outside. I mean those typical yobs, louts etc, wouldnt be able to sprint the length of a pitch to chase that vital ball for example (they're too fat from all that beer drinking!). I admit though that they do detract from the "beautiful game" and that football as a "fashion" trend is indeed on the wane, which for the most part is a good thing. Since football is neither cool or nerdy. Its just a sport at the end of the day!

I purely like the fact that you can play whether your tall or short, fat or skinny, male or female etc.. that appeals to me more so than sports like rugby - where you just need to be big and flatten people.

"Football's all about sweaty men hugging each other" - surely thats Rugby if I'm not mistaken, don't they do scrums and stuff? Football when its properly played is an art form. I 'm just sorry that people here don't realise it.

btw. I also do dirt biking, archery, horse riding and basketball. I think being cooped up 8 hrs a day at work is enough for me and I like the outdoors at the weekends. :)

I'm English and am not racist or sterotype Irish. In fact a lot of my friends are irish and irish decendants in Boston. But I know there is a section of society like that. :(

The whole Irish thing goes back 400 years to Drogheda.

*on topic* Who do we face if we get through the first round? e.g. depending on who comes first, second etc.. I havent checked the charts so I'm not sure

I just do, you would understand.
hereditary?
If you lived here you would hate them too.
Tis' true, english people are very rude and racist to the Irish and stereotype them as being terrorists

But dont take it personally they are rude and racist to evry1
That is a huge stereotype also. I lived in Ireland for 3 years (in Derry) and they are the most friendly people I have ever met. They say that you know half the people there and the other half know you :D.

Btw, we go and stay with Peter Sherridan and his family quite often if you know him. He's pretty influential with the Irish government.

2-2 then both teams win the rest of their group games but france win the group on goal difference.

Can't wait for this to start second greatest sporting event in the world after the world cup.Looks hard this time around though.

Not many whipping boys(poor teams) left in europe thes days.

Then we play winners from group A which I think will be portugal just spain runners up.

group c winners italy runners up bulgaria

group d winners germany runners up czech republic
