GP32 Gpquake On Sourceforge

I have good news and bad news. I found a pakager on the web that allows me to make Quake .pak files. So i took ALL files from ID1 (in their specific subfolders) and made a pak out of them. The rsulting file is 53,8 MB (56.429.021 Bytes). Now for the bad news: GPquake doesn´t start, it just hangs at a white screen. So the full version is not yet supported

the full version normaly comes in pak0.pak pak.pak and soem other file, but only the shareware on is known to work

It is but the way I found to make the FULL version work isn't very convenient (heavy in fact : 50+ MO) :
Just put pak0.pak (shareware) and pak1.pak (full pak) together in GPMM/QUAKE/ID1 and when you'll launch game, you'll play the FULL version with all level access. ;)

Horscht reinstall your "full version" of quake from the original cd and you will get pak0.pak and pak1.pak

If you dont have the cd anymore ;) use the demo or buy it only £5 brand new or less second hand

Edit:
The prog your looking for is caled pakexplorer (google it its freeware)
Last time I checked the original quake source has pak checking

I think it dose something along the files of looks for a quake image then dose a Checksum on the pak, So more than likely a modified pak file will not run

Is there any way of makeing it brighter??

I have a flu and it still seems very dark at points.
Buy a BLU (even if it still is dark with it)! :D

well, unfortunatelly, my Quake version doesnt install with .pak files, but has all the files Extracted in the ID1 folder. So what I did, was using pakexplorer, and made a pak called pk0.pak. resulting file: 53 megs. I put that file into GP:/GPMM/QUAKE/ID1, but when I start GPquake, i just get a blank screen. It works with the shareware pak, though.

But it seems that you have the full version with pak files. could you tell me, what files go in what pak file? you know, just a table of contents

Do that or put only the shareware version in your GPMM/QUAKE/ID1/ directory.

Pack with all fxe version of GP Quake and the shareware PAK :

Well holy crap :)

The Pocket PC guys must've been workign their tails off.. didn't think they'd get it up to this speed for awhile. Seeing it on the GP32 is amazing. Serious kudos to woogal and the original porters etc.. stunning work :)

I may just turn this FLU into a BLU after all .. hard to justify the expense, but damn, gotta have the latest goods.. :)

As far as I understood is this version just the old one recompiled with a newer compiler (plus bug fixes), all the cool stuff the guys from PocketQuake did arn't even included yet.

So in otherwords it will get even a lot more faster as soon as the non floating point optimisations are included

Can't you just move everything in your id1 directory (from your PC) to the id1 directory on your SMC? It should work that way.
It won't work like that yet. A lot of the file loading code was never ported (I guess because the speed at the time was so slow that it wasn't worth bothering with), so all that works is pak loading. Thats also the reason why there's no loading or saving of games yet.

Horscht. probably take too long to write it all down the full pak structure I dont have the time sorrry though thinking back the Full pak0 structure and maybe pak1 was included in one of the first quake unpak / repak tools but I would not bother as its still alpha I had problems running it with offical paks dont expect repaks to work well

Yuglooc. crashing in water...
The one I downloaded dosnt crash :D it displays a strange messed up load of warping Pixels as soon as I get out the screen returnes back to normal also you dont have to actually go in the water on the first level unless your going for 100% secrets ;)
