Compare the new GBA SP to the GP-I...... now compare GBA SP's SMC reader tech to GP32..... Seems that nintendo is teaming up with other companies and redesigning their GBA according to GAMEPARK'S blueprints....

this picture is the biggest kick in the nads towards gamers too...

Basicly they are trying to turn their underpowered lean machine into a STILL underpowered and overpriced 'slightly' mean machine.... (no matter how many add ons you add......a turd is still a turd)

What are your thoughts?

Well, everyone's gotta make money someway, just a shame Nitendo choose this path to make it. I just ordered a GP32, and even if Nitendo decided to have a 3rd party company manufacture an SMC card, I'd still stick to my GP32. It'll please Nitendo fans, and probably draw more attention to Nitendo than Gampark. Of course the GP32 isn't very well known anyhow. Of course if someone would code a GBA emu with ASM or at least port one to GP32 :D I'd be truely happy.

One thing everyone forgets to mention: Nintendo isn't making the SMC reader, a 3rd party company is. It probably won't get a release in the west, I never even heard of the company. What ever happened to that thing that read cards with NES games on them? I think it got a Japanese release...

I still hate Nintendo for not supporting the Gamecube here, though

Yeah, for more info on the 3rd party SMC card reader go to www.lik-sang.com they have a preview for it :D but eh, I'd still take the GP32 with me anyday over my GBA. Pure power and the ability to watch movies and play mp3's

I assume the GBA one is going to be limited to avoid piracy. Verrrrry limited. I seriously doubt it will do anything better than the GP32 can :)

Kind of tired to read always the same posts over & over again.
You never make any reference to the game & watch games (released a good 20 years prior to the GBA or GP32). So there goes the design part.
As for the SMC, only the most narrow minded person would not consider it as saving device (has GP32 copied on MP3 players or digital camera ? Oh no...). Only problem is that on Nintendo systems, their use is going to be crippled. But at least it's coming. Actually it might be better to use faster & more secured cards, but I am not going to complain about what we have.
As for fanboyism, everybody should grow up & recognize the virtues of every system (& don't forget the wonderswan & other myriad systems like you always do). A system is only as good as the games & applications you can run on it. All systems are great & have different uses. Am I going to be able to play Yoshi's island on GP32 (The GBA emu has not been released. I am sure it's going to be great, but I don't think it would run 100% compatibilitywise & speedwise. Heck VBA doesn't even do that...) ? Her knight on GBA ? It's not all about speed (any idea why everybody is so crazy about emu ? Get a clue...) or fancy sprite scaling, 3D, etc...
I love all the emus on both systems & enjoy them equally. Different systems, different uses, different games, different emus.
Well, I am sure most will never understand anything I said, as it's the rule of fanboyism, but hopefully we will see less of these useless posts.
