Jimmy Carr is good, Peter Kay is the king.

TBH I'm not really into stand up anymore. I used to like Billy Connelly.

Peter Kay is great, I think his main upper-hand in getting the audience is by doing something many comedians do; talking about things that people are very familiar with that are quite weird. For example how Bill Bailey mocks Argos and other funny British tendancies in his show "Part Troll". By doing that comdeians seem to get the audience's trust and they really like them as a person therefore making the show more ammusing.

That's what I think anyway....

I bought animals and thought it was funny

recieved Politics and thought he has failed me until i saw the extras with the infintie chips on typewriters thing and couldnt stop lauging

Jimmy Carr was funny as hell, but he is more a joke teller than others

Bill Bailey if hilarious

Peter Kaye is good because he has such good variations

Billy Connelly has turned into one big cliche

Lee Evans is the funniest stand up for me because I like the way everything is acted out (similar to Peter Kaye)

OK, here's another bar joke:

A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel in his pants.

The barkeeper looks at him, and says, "hey, is that what I think that is in your pants?!"
"Aye!" says the pirate, "it's driving me nuts!"

Has anyone actually seen stand-up in real life? I wish I was into it a while ago since when Bill Bailey was not to famous he used to perform in Lladudno!

Bill Bailey's gigs are still pretty easy to get tickets for, not too expensive either. Its just a matter of waiting for the 2005 tour to roll around.

He's pretty awesome in Black Books. I think pairing Bill Bailey up with Dylan Moran was possibly one of the finest choices ever made in the production of British Comedy.

On a sidenote: Bill Bailey is apparantly voicing the whale in the new Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy film that's coming out this year, which is probably a pretty good choice considering the speech that the whale gets to say is kinda similar to some of the concepts in his standup...

Ah!.. What's happening? it thought.
Er, excuse me, who am I?
Hello?
Why am I here? What's my purpose in life?
What do I mean by who am I?
Calm down, get a grip now... oh! this is an interesting sensation, what is it? It's a sort of... yawning, tingling sensation in my... my... well I suppose I'd better start finding names for things if I want to make any headway in what for the sake of what I shall call an argument I shall call the world, so let's call it my stomach.
Good. Ooooh, it's getting quite strong. And hey, what's about this whistling roaring sound going past what I'm suddenly going to call my head? Perhaps I can call that... wind! Is that a good name? It'll do... perhaps I can find a better name for it later when I've found out what it's for. It must be something very important because there certainly seems to be a hell of a lot of it. Hey! What's this thing? This... let's call it a tail - yeah, tail. Hey! I can can really thrash it about pretty good can't I? Wow! Wow! That feels great! Doesn't seem to achieve very much but I'll probably find out what it's for later on. Now - have I built up any coherent picture of things yet?
No.
Never mind, hey, this is really exciting, so much to find out about, so much to look forward to, I'm quite dizzy with anticipation...
Or is it the wind?
There really is a lot of that now isn't it?
And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like... ow... ound... round... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground!
I wonder if it will be friends with me?
And the rest, after a sudden wet thud, was silence.
