Same old same old:

Paris: Fierce clashes erupt as Yellow Vests protest for 62nd consecutive weekend Similar to HongKong!

German Deutche Bank is not keeling over, European Union countries (we, tax payers) will bail them (investors) out. Yay so happy!

Volcanoes active follow pattern: 2-3 days after we receive a solar flare.

European consumers eat a creditcard worth of microplastics each week. Yummy!

Assange

SARS-like virus in China.

btw, sott.net is not really a fact based 'newspage'. it's run by some esoteric freaks spinning strange conspiration theories. ;)
True true, I read all that news with a grain of salt. But if I post links on this forum, I try to find an English site.
For each news-outlet you need to apply a filter. This site had images, video and a link-through. So pretty reliable if you know the background (police first asks protesters nicely to retreat to spot X, they don't, police uses force.
Protesters in other countries are more vile, and even burn cars, loot, etc. I remember that a few months ago, in a small city in France, the police assisted the protests by diverting traffic, and police and protesters smiled at each other. That's the kind of protest I would like to be in.

That's redundant.
You might think it is... but it isn't. You see, we do not call Deutchland "Deutchland". We call it... Germany, Germaniya, or Allemagne, Alemania. The closest are the Dutch, that say Duitsland. However, "Duits" is not only comprised of Germany, but also the Netherlands. See this interesting link here: NederDiets.

Then, DeuBa has a large presence in other countries outside Deutchland, by using branches. These branches operate as separate entities, this way, if they fail, they just close the branch, without affecting the mother company.
Look at this link: https://thebanks.eu/banks/16559

Deutsche Bank Nederland NV operated as a branch of DEUTSCHE BANK AG (Germany).

So that page was for the Dutch Deutche Bank... or officially "Deutche Bank Nederland NV". Which is NOT the German Deutche Bank, which has lots of bad investments.

Yeah I know, the Brits didn't get the memo.

Still. Would you rather say European Nintendo or Nintendo Europe?

I thought the company was named 'Nintendo of Europe', although that's perhaps so that the English and the French both abbreviate it to initials in a very similar way, and avoiding the whole NATO/OTAN debacle.

That's the longest short webpage I've ever read. But it covers one important point that I was missing; that Assange tried to talk to the Swedish police when the rape case was filed, and it was only after they rebuffed him, which is an odd thing for the police to do to an accused man, and suggests they weren't interested in actually detecting the case. Which means he can't have been trying to avoid justice by fleeing into an embassy.

In America, the Democratic Party starts picking its presidential candidate tomorrow. Note that the process takes a few months though.

Right now, FiveThirtyEight says noone winning enough delegates for the Democratic nomination is the third most likely outcome, with about a one in six chance. Man, that would be brutal. I think that outcome will become less likely as time goes on though.

@JDTAY: And the republicans? Do they keep the current one?
Weird, I thought Tulsi would win in Hawaii, but there Biden would win too. Hmm... she would, and I quote:

She has made reducing military activity abroad a central message of her campaign.

So nope, not her.
Sanders is too old now, right?
Wait... you have a Castro? Given that last name... nope no chance.
Where is Clinton in the list?
My bet would be Trump getting re-elected. (as most presidents do, lately, like Putin and Kim). Go Republicrats! ;)

How much PEACE do we receive:

GW Bush 24 bomb/day - (1 bomb each hour)
B Obama 34 bomb/day - (1 bomb each 40 minutes; weird, I was under the impression it was one each 20 min, will need to recheck)
D Trump 120 bomb/day - (data from 2019 only. Each 12 minuten 1 bomb)

Where's Orange Guy's impeachment going? Senate doing its thing? What's its thing?

Go Republicrats! ;)
In written English they've given up on word composition long ago. It's "Go Republic Rats!"

That could very well be just the bomb price dropping.

Senate rejected asking for testimony from people who might have something pertinent to say, so it now basically falls along party lines. Not guilty, or whatever the term is.

Edit: Senate, not 'impeachment'.
