The Caring Corner :)

No need to worry, I have several tools for reducing blood pressure.

I have some really bad nausea this morning, but my temp's fine. Not sure what's going on. I need to call my sister when she gets off work to see how she's doing.
I just took an "as needed" med for nausea, ondansetron, that I got the last time I was sick, right after a mountain vacation a few months ago. I'm kinda freaking out about it now though. Looked it up, and it can cause serotonin syndrome when combined with certain antidepressants. Like Cymbalta. Did I mention that I take 120mg Cymbalta?

I mean, I'll know if I get serotonin syndrome though, because that shit straight up kills.

We've got a thunderstorm here, so am currently stuck in the bathroom because it's the only place Peony feels safe.
Our poor little thing. Give her a caress from me if that's ok for you both. If it isn't just give her a caress from you if she accepts it.
I'm assuming Peony is she, but it doesn't matter really. I just don't feel like chasing your previous posts to check whether you call her she.

I'm not a doctor nor a pharmacist. But it sounds like nausea is preferable to medicines, just by reading you.

I'm feeling better now. Apparently nausea medicine helps nausea. No sign of serotonin syndrome either from what I can tell. I mean, I doubt my doctor would've given me something unsafe, so I bet it was a low dose of the nausea medication. I didn't ask about the dosage, just the name.

Will do.

That's correct.

She's not had the best couple of days. Yesterday we thought the storm had gone so came out of the bathroom, only to be greeted by a flash of lightning which (due to shock/fear) caused Peony to completely cut herself off from everything (including me) till today. We had a thunderstorm today too, though it wasn't as severe as the one yesterday.

So do you share the fear of lightning or is it only Peony?
Is it the light or the sound that is causing it; as light could be easily kept outside than sound, but good isolation headphones with some music might remove the noise shock a bit.

For me it's the sudden loud noise. I'm not scared but I am rather inside when there is lightning, usually also because there is rain involved, but I was a bit more intimidated when once it hit multiple times in quick succession near my house. I could hear the initial zap before the regular thunder sounds, which was new to me. Obviously the lightning itself is dangerous, but when inside that usually isn't something I need to worry about.

I think my nausea may be coming back. Bad timing for it too, as I can't ask for more of that nausea medication until staff arrives in the morning.

I did just get groceries today, and ate a lot of food. It's probably that.

My temp was 98.1 just now, which is kinda high for night time, but I had microwave food, so that could've pushed it up. I had precooked chicken too, but it wasn't Tyson, so I should be clear, right?

Yeah, to follow that up, it usually takes at least a week for listeria to present. So I should actually be thinking about what I had one to four weeks ago, which is kinda hard to remember.

Apologies if my last question about nausea came across as implying you’d got too drunk the previous evening - it wasn’t clear by what I wrote but the reason I asked whether it was hangover-like was because that young adult I mentioned in the Coronavirus thread said their symptoms started off with hangover-like nausea...

Yeah, I think my nausea went away overnight. It certainly wasn't as bad as Sunday morning anyway. I was on the edge of vomiting then.

The upper part of my nose was really cold when I woke up. I searched and found that this can be caused by hypothyroidism. Thank you for fueling my hypochondriasis, internet.

Actual body temperature was 96.8 degrees. Low, but not too low. Man did my nose feel colder than that though.

I was thinking maybe it was just caused by my azelastine too. Azelastine doesn't cause cold nose from what I can tell though, but it does increase risk of upper respiratory infection. Not exactly the greatest thing to read during the pandemic.

I was looking up some of the symptoms of colon cancer, because of the CHEK2 thing. It lists fatigue, which kinda fits, but it also lists unexplained weight loss, which doesn't fit at all. I could actually really use some unexplained weight loss. That would be great.

An intestinal worm’ll do that for you!

Good news, sometime simply eating stuff will make you immune to virusus. Probably.

Well yes, you can take a polio vaccine by mouth for example, but it's not quite as effective as if it's injected into you. I'd expect the same efficacy from a coronavirus oral vaccine before any evidence starts coming in.
